Private Guided Tours of Gdańsk, Sopot & Gdynia with a Licensed Local Guide
I offer original tour programs around the Tricity – Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia. The tours can be combined into one itinerary or focused on a single city. I am also happy to arrange custom tours tailored to your interests, including trips beyond the Tricity area.
Old Gdańsk – A Walk Through the Historic Heart of the City

This tour takes you through the most beautiful and representative part of historic Gdańsk – the Main Town. We will walk along the Royal Route, see Long Street and the Long Market, the Neptune Fountain, the Artus Court and the largest brick church in the world – St. Mary’s Basilica. We will also visit the charming Mariacka Street and finish our walk by the Motława River on the Long Embankment, with a view of the famous Gdańsk Crane and Granary Island.
It is a story about a Hanseatic city of merchants – their wealth and ambitions, but also about the everyday life of the people who shaped this remarkable place over the centuries. During the walk I combine historical facts with curious anecdotes and a fresh, contemporary look at Gdańsk.
The tour is based on a walk through the Main Town, but the program can easily be extended. If time and interest allow, we may also visit the Old Town, see the historic Polish Post Office building or explore one of Gdańsk’s fascinating museums. I especially recommend the Uphagen House, Artus Court, the Amber Museum or St. Bridget’s Church with its famous amber altar.
The walk is always conducted at a relaxed pace and adapted to the interests and needs of the group.
Duration: 2.5–3 hours
Gdańsk – Westerplatte

Westerplatte – Where World War II Began
A walk through the area of the former Military Transit Depot, where the first shots of World War II were fired on 1 September 1939. We will see the Monument to the Defenders of the Coast with its panoramic view of the Bay of Gdańsk, the ruins of the barracks, Guardhouse No. 1 and several places connected with the seven-day defence of the Polish garrison.
It is a story about decisions, responsibility and the people who, despite overwhelming odds, became part of history.
During the tour I combine the historical background with a contemporary perspective – how Westerplatte has changed over time and how its meaning is interpreted today.
Duration: 1–1.5 hours
Gdańsk – Gdańsk Shipyard & European Solidarity Centre

The Birthplace of Solidarity
The Gdańsk Shipyard is one of the most important places in the recent history of Poland and Europe. It was here, in August 1980, that the workers’ strike began – a movement that led to the creation of “Solidarity”, the first independent trade union in the communist Eastern Bloc.
Our walk begins at the Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers of 1970 – three monumental crosses commemorating the workers who were killed during protests against the communist authorities in December 1970.
Right next to it stands the distinctive building of the European Solidarity Centre. Depending on time and your preferences, we may see the building from the outside and explore the area around the monument, or enter the museum to visit the modern exhibition devoted to the history of Solidarity and the political transformations of Europe.
During the tour we may also visit the historic BHP Hall, where the famous August Agreements were signed in August 1980.
If time allows, we can also walk through the grounds of the former Imperial Shipyard, where among historic industrial halls and the characteristic shipyard cranes we will see how the former industrial area is gradually transforming into a new centre of culture, art and urban life.
Duration: 1–2.5 hours
Gdańsk – Oliwa Cathedral & Oliwa Park

A Peaceful Part of Gdańsk Full of History and Greenery
Oliwa is one of the most picturesque districts of Gdańsk, known for its beautiful architecture, historic park and the unique atmosphere of the former Cistercian abbey.
Our walk begins at the Oliwa Archcathedral, whose history dates back to the 13th century. During the visit we will see the interior of the cathedral and the famous Oliwa organ – one of the most recognisable instruments of its kind in Europe.
Short organ concerts are regularly held in the cathedral, offering a chance to hear the remarkable sound of this historic instrument. During the summer season concerts often take place several times a day.
Next, we continue to Oliwa Park – one of the most beautiful parks in Gdańsk. Its geometric gardens, avenues of old trees, ponds and peaceful atmosphere make it a perfect place for a relaxing walk.
During the tour I also расска about the history of the Cistercian abbey, which shaped the development of this part of the city for centuries.
For those who enjoy scenic views, it is also possible to climb the nearby Pachołek Hill. From the observation platform at the top there is a panoramic view of the Tricity Landscape Park, Gdańsk and the Bay of Gdańsk..
Duration: 1–2 hours
Sopot – A Legendary Seaside Resort

A Walk Along Monte Cassino Street, the Pier and the Most Beautiful Corners of the City
Sopot is the most famous seaside resort in Poland, attracting visitors for more than a century with its elegant character, beautiful architecture and unique atmosphere by the Baltic Sea.
Our walk begins in the city centre on Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street, commonly known as “Monciak”. This lively pedestrian street is full of restaurants, cafés and historic townhouses. Along the way we will also see one of the most recognisable buildings in Poland – the famous Crooked House.
From there we continue towards the longest wooden pier in Europe, the symbol of Sopot. From the end of the pier there is a beautiful view over the Bay of Gdańsk and the long line of sandy beaches.
Nearby stands the famous Grand Hotel, one of the most elegant hotels on the Baltic coast, which has hosted film stars, artists and important political figures.
The tour can also begin at the viewpoint on Strzeleckie Hill, located next to the famous Forest Opera – a remarkable open-air amphitheatre hidden among the forests of Sopot.
For those who would like to see more than just the city centre, the walk can be extended to include a route through the hills of Sopot, where several viewpoints offer panoramic views of the town and the Bay of Gdańsk.
Another interesting option is a walk in search of Sopot’s beautiful historic villas – elegant residences from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, recalling the time when Sopot was one of the most fashionable seaside resorts in Europe.
Duration: 1–3 hours
Gdynia Orłowo – The Cliff and Pier by the Sea

One of the Most Beautiful Places on the Baltic Sea
Orłowo is one of the most picturesque parts of Gdynia, known for its beautiful sea views and its distinctive cliff coastline.
Our walk begins at the Orłowo Pier – a small but very charming wooden pier offering a lovely view over the Bay of Gdańsk.
From there we continue towards the seaside cliff, one of the most recognisable landscapes on the Polish Baltic coast. For many years this place has attracted artists, photographers and anyone who wants to see the Baltic Sea in its most natural setting.
The walk can continue along the beach at the foot of the cliff or along the path running above it, where wide views open over the sea and the nearby seaside districts.
There is also the possibility of a longer walk along the coast – first along the cliffs and the beach, and then along the Seaside Boulevard leading towards the centre of Gdynia. It is one of the most beautiful walking routes in the entire Tricity area..
Duration: 1–3 hours
Gdynia – Kamienna Góra and the Port

City Panorama, History and the Harbour
A walk through the centre of Gdynia offers a chance to see the most important places connected with the history of the city and its maritime character.
The tour may begin on Kamienna Góra, where one of the most beautiful views opens over Gdynia, the harbour and the Bay of Gdańsk.
From there we continue down towards Kościuszko Square and the South Pier – the representative part of the city, where historic ships are moored and some of Gdynia’s most important attractions are located.
At the waterfront we will see the famous destroyer ORP Błyskawica, one of the most renowned ships in the history of the Polish Navy, and the sailing ship Dar Pomorza, the legendary training vessel of the Polish merchant fleet.
There is also the possibility of boarding these ships and visiting their interiors. I also guide tours on board ORP Błyskawica and Dar Pomorza, allowing visitors to learn about their history and the everyday life of sailors.
At the end of the South Pier you will also find the Gdynia Aquarium, which presents marine fauna and flora from different parts of the world.
The walk allows you to experience the unique atmosphere of a city built by the sea – a place that in a short time transformed from a small fishing village into a modern harbour and one of the symbols of the Second Polish Republic.
Duration: 1–3 hours
Gdynia – Emigration Museum – Poland’s Road to the World

The Historic Sea Terminal and Views of the Harbour Filled with Large Ships
The Emigration Museum in Gdynia is located in the historic Sea Terminal, from which ships departed during the interwar period carrying thousands of Poles on their journeys to America, Canada and South America. It was here that many great stories of emigration began – often filled with hope, but also with difficult farewells.
During the visit we can learn about the lives of people who left Poland to start a new life in distant parts of the world. The modern exhibition presents both the everyday experiences of emigrants and the influence Poles had on the history of many countries.
The museum itself stands in a unique location – right by Gdynia’s inner harbour. From the waterfront there is a view of the working port, where huge container ships, cargo vessels and large cruise ships arriving in the city can often be seen. In this way the history of past sea journeys meets the everyday life of a modern port.
A visit to the museum can also be combined with a walk along the nearby harbour quays and a short introduction to the history of the Port of Gdynia – one of the most important ports on the Baltic Sea.
Duration: 1.5–2 hours
Gdynia – North of the City Centre

Oksywie Cliffs, the Torpedo Station at Babie Doły and the Szperk in Rewa
North of the centre of Gdynia stretches one of the most picturesque sections of the entire Baltic coast. It is a place where cliffs meet small fishing harbours and the history of the navy blends with the landscapes of quiet seaside villages.
The tour may begin in Oksywie, the oldest part of Gdynia. Here the walk follows the cliffs and the seaside boulevard, passing the site of a former fishing settlement. From many points there are beautiful views over the Port of Gdynia and the Bay of Gdańsk.
This part of the city is also home to the Naval Port Command and the Polish Naval Academy. In front of the academy stands a historic submarine, an interesting reminder of Gdynia’s strong naval traditions.
From there we can continue to the district of Babie Doły, where the ruins of a former torpedo station from the Second World War stand on the beach. It is one of the most distinctive sights along the Bay of Gdańsk and a popular spot for photographers.
The route may then lead to Mechelinki, a small and atmospheric fishing village. Here you will find a cliff with one of the best views over the entire bay as well as a small fishing harbour.
The tour is often best concluded in Rewa, a picturesque fishing and holiday village. This is where the remarkable Szperk is located – a natural sandy peninsula extending almost a kilometre into the sea. Walking along this narrow strip of land, with water on both sides, is one of the most unique experiences on the Polish Baltic coast.
The route can be adapted to the available time and your interests – visiting selected locations or following a longer itinerary that includes the most interesting places in northern Gdynia and the surrounding coastal villages.
